The Ukrainian War: The 100 days that changed Europe

Strategic and military analysis of the Ukrainian war

«The war in Ukraine: The 100 days that changed Europe» It is a very special project for the entire team, as it is the first book we have published, and it is also the head of a series that will materialize in collaboration with the Catarata publishing house. It is also, with all certainty, only the first of those that we will dedicate to the war in Ukraine, which is why it is focused on the first 100 days of the conflict. Later there will be a second part focused on the change in Russian strategy that led it to take practically all of Lugansk in the following phases, but let's not anticipate events.

As unfortunately we all know, on February 24, Russia began the invasion of Ukraine. What was probably conceived as a coup to overthrow Zelensky's government, dismantle his armed forces and occupy the country with the units that Moscow had been concentrating for months near the Ukrainian border, has led to a bloody conflict that has surpassed the hundred days duration. It is not clear what its outcome will be, but it is clear that the invasion is being a military setback for Moscow.

As the war progressed and the enormous shortcomings of the Russian armed forces were observed, the Kremlin limited its area of operations and strategic objectives, forced by events, which does not imply that it will surrender easily or that it has lost any option of victory, as explained in «The war in Ukraine: The 100 days that changed Europe».

Be that as it may, we are facing the largest conflict on European soil since the Second World War and also the first major conventional war since the invasion of Iraq by the United States, almost twenty years ago. A conflict that is helping to put an end to the unipolar moment that emerged after the fall of the Soviet Union, that will accelerate the decline of Russia and its rapprochement with China and that, regardless of its outcome, will mean the end of a more aspirational liberal international order than real. Furthermore, a conflict in which a European Union apparently determined to become a geopolitical - and not just an economic - actor will have a difficult role to play. The same, in a closer key, for Spain.

However, there is more, since the war in Ukraine has revealed some of the trends that will mark the war of the future - hence the Russian defeat in the early stages of the conflict - and provides interesting lessons from a military point of view that deserve to be analyzed. specifically. This, in itself, constitutes a novelty in our country and is a good reason to acquire the book, because beyond the approaches that have been made until now from Journalism, Public International Law or International Relations, the war deserves a specific study done by professionals.

In summary, «The war in Ukraine: The 100 days that changed Europe» It is a unique work that tries to differentiate itself from the rest of the books published on the subject by emphasizing the strategic and military analysis and the consequences for Spain and the European Union. Hence, doctors in Political Sciences, Academics of Arts and Military Sciences, officers of the Armed Forces and university professors, among others, participate in it. A book that you can purchase in your bookstore like on Amazon (available in physical format and Kindle) and that will continue…

  1. I bought it yesterday on Amazon (paper) and I have already read the first two chapters. Very interesting analysis, although I found the first chapter a bit tedious with so much philosophical theory, but it helps to see part of the origin of the conflict.

  2. I bought it on Amazon but they canceled my order because it was out of stock, I think. Is there any other way to purchase it in paper form? Or do you know when it will be available again?

    Thanks and regards.
