The Israel-Gaza war has been, since its beginnings on October 7, an irregular conflict in which Hamas has been resorting to an urban guerrilla war to inflict the greatest possible damage on Israel not only physically, but also in the cognitive. Hamas not only managed to deal a dramatic blow with its initial action, but since then it has successfully used underground maneuvering and has carried out numerous minor ambushes, harassment with mortars and snipers and, to a lesser extent, coups, generally of opportunity, since they do not involve much prior preparation or accumulation of intelligence. Furthermore, Hamas has successfully used the population and civilian infrastructure both to reduce the firepower of its enemies - who have nevertheless caused tens of thousands of deaths among the population of the Strip - and to launch cognitive operations, making use of the enormous problem represented by the hundreds of thousands of displaced people trapped in Gaza and in need of colossal humanitarian aid.
