Passive and silent electronic support measures often go unnoticed in a war that, in itself, is little known. However, without correctly using the ESM (English Electronic Support Measures), other techniques such as jamming or electronic deception could not be used and, in many cases, modern naval warfare would once again be fought over the horizon, as it was a century ago. ESMs are closely related to electronic intelligence and information warfare.
