It is increasingly common to see articles on specialized sites and in the press about electromagnetic cannons (Electro Magnetic Rail Gun or EMRG). Articles that claim that anti-missile defense can be revolutionized by this type of cannon, currently under development for naval forces such as the US Navy or the Chinese PLAN, but which can also be installed on land. In this article of the National Interest it was said, nothing more and nothing less, that the missile threat from North Korea could be nullified by the EMRG and the supposed revolution they represent. Things, however, are far from being so simple.
