Counterterrorism, fight against propaganda and jihadist insurgency

Russia's anti-terrorist policy has been very active since the 90s. Its current threats range from the Islamist insurgency resulting from the conflicts in the North Caucasus to the establishment of Daesh proxies in its own territory. Likewise, it continues to have a strong foreign presence in the fight against jihadist terrorism while its geopolitical interests in the Near and Middle East intersect. However, it is one of the most vulnerable countries to jihadist propaganda and the special focus of radicalization and Islamist mobilization to fight in Iraq and Syria persists.
