To analyze any military confrontation between Israel and Hamas and other militant groups in Gaza on the other, we must start from the basis that the Israeli objectives regarding Gaza, in any of the conflicts of recent years, since Sharon's disengagement plan, They have never been about destroying Hamas, as that could lead to chaos in the Strip. Hamas, although it carries out terrorist activities, is not a simple terrorist group that acts in the shadows. Hamas, in addition to managing services to the population in Gaza, is a much less extremist group than other Islamic groups and contributes to partially deradicalizing the local population, limiting clashes and combats to the national Palestinian cause and not to an international Islamist agenda.
