At a popular level, it is often believed that climate variations - induced by global warming - and the scarcity of natural resources will generate an increase in the number of conflicts and wars (especially civil) and, as a consequence, international insecurity. On the other hand, climate change and the scarcity of natural resources is one of those issues that are often misinterpreted, since although climate and natural resources are undoubtedly important factors in the context of many armed conflicts, in no way can it be stated scientifically to be its main cause.
