A floating armory is a ship in which weapons, ammunition and all the necessary equipment are stored so that private security guards can operate in certain risk areas. Its existence became critical because the laws of coastal states do not usually allow ships with weapons on board to enter their waters. For this reason, they operate beyond territorial waters in order to avoid national regulations. Nor has international law been able to regulate its legal status. And in that gray area they carry out essential work for maritime security.
