The role of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in the Ukrainian war has been muted at best. The inability to carry out amphibious operations and the sinking of its flagship, the cruiser "Moskva", have made some of its shortcomings clear. A situation that has its origins in the years prior to the invasion of Ukraine and that is a consequence of economic, industrial and doctrinal problems, as well as the sanctions following the annexation of Crimea. In this second part, we focus both on the impact that Russia's participation in the Syrian war has had on the Northern Fleet, and on its composition prior to the invasion of Ukraine.
