How to recover lost capabilities after the discharge of the P-3

After the loss of the P-3, Spain's defense has been left without Maritime Patrol resources. Some of the proposed solutions, due to their price, are excessive. Others, due to their technical characteristics, are totally insufficient. Furthermore, it is necessary to combine the need to quickly replace lost capacity with the need to protect the national defense industry and of course, with the need to provide the most cutting-edge means, objectives that are not always compatible. Along the following lines we offer a detailed analysis from the technical point of view of the challenges to be faced, as well as the various possibilities that the market offers or that could be developed, seeking to trace a path that allows the Air Force and the Navy recover capabilities that should never have been lost.
