The emergence of China and India as powers with anti-satellite capabilities, together with the logical reaction of the Russians and Americans to the new scenario, is causing a chain effect and an unprecedented boom, not even during the Cold War, in developments related to space war. Aware of the need to defend their own space assets, other actors such as France, the United Kingdom or Japan are also embarking on implementing their own programs, in principle of self-defense. Be that as it may, the acceptance of space as a domain more on an equal footing with the traditional ones and its progressive militarization are giving way to a new era marked by uncertainty.
