Nuclear deterrence remains the key to the international security system. In recent times, a series of steps have been taken by France that, together with Brexit and the dire state of the armed forces of other members of the European Union, threaten to grant the Elysée a greater role and power than that corresponding to tenor of its population or GDP. With Macron at the helm, France does not even hide its intention to become, shouting "more Europe", the leader of a project - that of European defense - that, paradoxically, would remain blurred with France at the helm. However, after the British exit, it is the only country capable of providing the necessary nuclear deterrent.
