The future strategic bomber of the USAF

The future B-21 Raider strategic bomber of the United States Air Force faces a series of challenges that are as unique as they are, apparently, incompatible. If on the one hand it must replace aircraft as different as the B-2A Spirit, B-52H Stratofortress or B-1B Lancer, on the other it must do so within a very limited budget for what is typical in this type of project. Furthermore, incorporating new technologies, such as the use of gregarious drones or the launch of swarms that, a priori, could make it an unparalleled weapon. So far, the progress of the program has been dazzling, with two units in the assembly process and waiting for a first flight that could arrive before the end of the year, as a prelude to its entry into service in 2025 or 2026. However, There are several shadows that threaten the future of a revolutionary project.
