At the end of 2019, in a week in which several important news came to light about the Navy's future escorts, the F-110 frigates, the confirmation of the acquisition of the CAPTAS-4 sonar from THALES was included. This reference went relatively unnoticed among much more media news, such as the proposed names for the five frigates. In our opinion, the acquisition of this sonar is probably the most important news to date regarding the future F-110. A sonar that is already in use in other marinas around us, and throughout this article we will try to demonstrate why.
