According to the National Maritime Security Strategy, «Spain is a maritime nation due to its geographical configuration, its history and the place that we understand the sea should occupy in our future. Much of our prosperity and well-being lies beyond the coastline. That is, the risks to maritime security are also risks to the development and economic well-being of the country, which is why they must be especially valued. But the unique characteristics of the sea require a specific treatment of any issue that is analyzed in relation to it; Security, and cybersecurity specifically, are no exception.
