The 2022 summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization or SCO (SCO) just ended this week in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. The SCO was founded in 2001 by China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, to discuss economic and security issues in Central Asia, with a focus on combating terrorism and strengthening trade ties. After coming a long way, it has become the largest regional organization in the world, concentrating more than half of the population of our planet.
