Currently, in the eastern Mediterranean, a power game is developing in which energy, gas exploitation and the geopolitics of gas pipelines explain a good part of the behavior of strategic actors and their deployments of military force. A good part of the Turkish actions, but also Russian, Italian or French, cannot be understood without taking into account the Turkish project of establishing itself as a regional energy hub, nor the European need to impose its own policy, as we will see below.
