Why were there no Patriots on the bases in Iraq?

It is not true that bases in Iraq were attacked to be a de-escalation, but because attacking more important bases would have been a failure given the concentration of ballistic defenses.

There are people who have been greatly surprised by the fact that the US did not have anti-missile systems deployed in Iraq to stop missile attacks like those that Iran has carried out to attack American troops in retaliation for the death of Soleimani. It really shouldn't be surprising at all. The US does not have anti-missile missile batteries in infinite quantities. Although the Americans have the most batteries and missiles of this type, it must also be taken into consideration that they have many more objectives to defend throughout the entire planet. In fact, it must deploy anti-missile batteries in South Korea (where it has sent a considerable number, by the way), in several European countries, in bases along the Persian Gulf (excluding Iraq), in Okinawa, Guam, etc. It is not possible to defend every base and barracks, airport, oil infrastructure, etc.
