Morocco is claiming the extension of its EEZ unilaterally and without a geological basis to support the legal claim, to seize areas that should belong to the Spanish EEZ (with the probable intention of carrying out marine mining of tellurium and other resources). Taking into account this ongoing conflict, it is worth clarifying some points of the Moroccan propaganda hoaxes that will begin to circulate on social networks. These will probably claim that A) the Government of Spain has not delimited the Canarian territorial waters, B) Morocco has some type of legal right to claim an Exclusive Economic Zone of 350 nautical miles that exceeds the western limit of the Spanish EEZ in the Canary Islands. These hoaxes are dismantled taking into account the points of clarification that we will present below.
