Peace Operations or Peacekeeping Operations, despite their importance and the means allocated to them, have mostly resulted in an uncertain result. This should force us to investigate the deep causes behind these discouraging results and to dedicate resources not only to reconstruction, or to the imposition of peace, but also to understanding the environment in which operations are carried out, the local culture and of the conditions that can ultimately cause a perfectly planned mission to become a resounding fiasco.
