In recent years, Western navies have significantly reduced the number of escort ships, have renounced specialization in favor of versatility and have lowered some manufacturing standards, eliminating, for example, armor, while relying blindly on electronics. The sum of all these factors and others that we will explain represents an unacceptable risk and deserves a complete reassessment by planners if it is really intended to use naval forces in real scenarios in which attrition due to use and casualties produced in the combat could leave a good part of our navies in check at the first opportunity.
